Fabio and Claire Gazeau-Montrasi direct this 6 ha domaine perched high above the town of Fuissé. Fabio Gazeau told me that 2011 was a “relatively easy vintage both in the vineyards and in the cellar afterwards. We began picking on the 4th of September and brought in clean and ripe fruit that required very little sorting effort.
Tasting notes:
A deft touch of wood sets off a pungent nose of citrus, resin and floral nuances. There is good energy and detail to the delicious and solidly well-concentrated middle weight flavors that
possess good if not truly special depth and length on the agreeably dry but not austere finish.
Pairing notes:
This would be good with a chicken in cream and mushroom sauce or with foie gras or even
oysters!!!
