Burgundy’s Cité des Vins
In 2021, the Cité des Vins (City of Wines) will welcome wine lovers for a unique experience. In Beaune, 3 venues will give visitors the keys to the world of “Burgundy Wines”, before continuing their journey through the region. Discovery, sharing and friendship: a journey of discovery that will bring all your senses to life! The City will be both a place of information and experiences based on an educational and sensory approach.
The Welcome pavilion
During an initial tasting, you will discover the fundamentals of Burgundy wine: grape varieties, “climats”, appellations, flavours, food and wine combinations…
Your gateway to the vineyards, you can create your own itinerary through the region, as you please. A walk through the vineyards, a visit to a cellar or an estate, or a wine course: you will inevitably find a suitable way to extend your stay!
The Wine School pavilion
Burgundy’s City of Wine offers workshops and training courses for beginners and experts alike (Discovery Day, Introduction to Wine Tasting, Food and Wine Pairings etc).
The Experiences pavilion
Fun times, sharing and creativity.
Come and discover in a modern, clever and fun way, all the culture in the broadest sense of Burgundy wine: its history, its traditions, its features, its practices. You can see, touch, feel, taste… The common thread of this City of Wines, both interactive and alive, will be based around the notion of “climats” which makes Burgundy so special.
Indeed, the “climats” of Burgundy’s vineyards will be at the heart of the messages from Burgundy’s City of Wines.
